アクティブ光ケーブル (AOC) は、両端に光トランシーバで終端された光ファイバー ケーブルとして定義できます。

ケーブル端で電気から光への変換を使用して、標準の電気インターフェイスとの互換性を犠牲にすることなく、ケーブルの速度と距離のパフォーマンスを向上させます。
用途は、サーバーや映像伝送装置、複合機、医療機器、産業用ロボットなど、さまざまな機器でご利用いただけます。

Active optical cable (AOC) can be defined as an optical fiber cable terminated with optical transceivers on both ends. It uses electrical-to-optical conversion on the cable ends to improve speed and distance performance of the cable without sacrificing compatibility with standard electrical interfaces.
